One of the most common questions we get is: "how much does drone spraying cost?" The honest answer is that it depends on a few variables. Here's how we think about pricing so you can come to us with realistic expectations.
The main factors
Area (hectares) The biggest driver. Most drone spraying is priced per hectare. Smaller areas cost more per hectare than larger ones because setup, travel, and equipment costs are spread across fewer billable hours.
Application rate (L/ha) How much liquid needs to be applied per hectare. A 10 L/ha rate fills the tank more often than a 5 L/ha rate, which means more tank refills and slower overall coverage. Higher rates increase job time and cost.
Terrain and access Open, flat paddocks are fastest to fly. Paddocks with obstacles, irregular shapes, steep terrain, or tight access for the ground support vehicle take longer. We build this into the quote after discussing your site.
Mobilisation We're based on the Gold Coast. Jobs close by are cheaper to mobilise for than jobs several hours away. For large jobs in remote areas, overnight stays may be factored in.
Chemical We don't supply chemicals — you or your agronomist organise that. But the spray rate and tank mixing complexity can affect job time.
What to have ready when you call
To give you a fast, accurate quote, it helps to have:
- The area to be treated (hectares or acres — approximate is fine)
- The product and rate you want applied (or a rough idea)
- Your location (suburb or nearest town)
- The type of terrain (flat paddock, sloped, orchard, etc.)
- Your timing preferences (urgency, time of year)
If you don't know the exact area, that's fine — we can help estimate from a map, or the booking form has a draw-your-area feature that calculates hectares automatically.
